The wine and food scene in Minneapolis/St. Paul is constantly changing and growing, and we’ve been spoiled by incredible restaurants and talented sommeliers who champion local food sources and small-production, character-driven wines. We invite you to get to know the faces behind the wine lists, and see what excites them most about their jobs and drives their passion for wine and food. We’d like to present Somm Series classes at France 44, where once a month we feature a guest sommelier from a local restaurant and give them the stage to talk about whatever is making them “tick” at the moment. This month, we welcome Amy Waller from The Bachelor Farmer. Amy has her roots in restaurant life from the very beginning, working in her mother’s restaurant in rural Minnesota from a young age. From washing dishes to working every front-of-house position at a number of restaurants throughout the Twin Cities, Amy now serves as the Assistant General Manager and Wine Director at The Bachelor Farmer in Minneapolis’s North Loop neighborhood. She is currently working her way up through the Court of Master Sommeliers, and has an undying passion for Grüner Veltliner. Amy is paying a visit to share her love of Grüner, as well as all things Austria! Join her for a special evening highlighting everything from the clean, crisp whites of Niederosterreich to the warm, dark reds of Burgenland and everything in-between. Attendees will receive special event pricing on all wines tasted, and light snacks. Participants must be 21 years old. Tickets are non-refundable. If you cannot attend a class you have registered for, registration is transferable to another France 44 class through Dojour. All classes are subject to minimum enrollment. If a class is cancelled, we'll notify you 48 hours in advance. Please notify France 44 with any dietary restrictions or preferences.
