Summer Fruits + Spice Natural Dyeing
Dye fabric and textiles with ingredients from your very own kitchen! Use the magic of nature to bring color to your favorite textiles. From bold and bright to subtle and soft, summer fruits + spices from your kitchen can transform natural fabric with their vital colors. Did you know that avocado pits dye fabric the perfect soft blush pink? We will incorporate different folding techniques inspired by Japanese shibori art and also get creative with our own designs! After practicing with scrap fabric, each student will choose textiles to dye. You will go home with a set of dyed textiles and the know-how to continue dyeing with the same things you use in your soups.
